Obituary of Donald Vanderheyden
Don Vanderheyden of Strathroy, Ontario passed away peacefully on Friday September 16, 2022, at the age of 68. Loved father of Laura Vanderheyden and cherished Opa to Jack and Lucas. Don will be dearly missed by his siblings, Robert Vanderheyden (Ian), Ken Vanderheyden (Joanne), Gwen Vanderheyden and Sue Bork (Fred). Predeceased by his parents Klaas and Annie Vanderheyden. Don had a wonderful relationship with his many nieces and nephews; more than one thought they were his “favorite”. Don was a friend to many people who will also miss him dearly. He was always available to chat with or help his many friends. Don was a talented carpenter, an avid fisherman and an accomplished musician, who wrote and published 4 songs.
Don’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the health care professionals who took care of Don over the last 8 months. We especially extend our sincere gratitude to all those who cared for Don at Sakura House in Woodstock. The care and compassion Don and his family received was outstanding.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 20th , 2022 from 7-9PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 at 11 a.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
