Donald William Teed
Teed, Donald William -Age 89, Truro, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022 in Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Westchester, he was the son of the late Cecil and Waneta (Hardie) Teed.
Donald is survived by his sons, Donald (Valerie) and Douglas (Joanie); grandchildren, Matthew, Riley and Jasmine.

Donald grew up in Westchester, Wallace and Malagash. He was a member of the Canadian military from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s, stationed in Tokyo for support of Korea peacekeeping and later CFB Shearwater, CFB Rivers and CFB Upland. He gained a trade in aviation tech, which became his career. For three summers in the late 60’s, he performed aerial forest fire patrols in northern New Brunswick, replacing what would normally be a team of three. In the 1970s, he worked with Churchill Falls (Lab) Corp, moving into the position of Chief Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Life in Labrador provided opportunities to enjoy his passions for hunting and fishing, often utilizing his Cessna 172 floatplane. In the early 1980’s, he returned to Nova Scotia to work with Lands and Forests in Shubenacadie, maintaining their helicopters and the Premier’s aircraft. In recent years, Donald dedicated his time to caring for Louise. His commitment and resilience were unwavering as she gradually succumbed to Alzheimer’s disease.
