We are deeply
saddened to announce the passing of Donald William Paul of the Saint
Mary’s First Nation on Friday January 28, 2022.
Donald William Paul was born to the late Arthur (Louie) and Evangeline
(Polchies) Paul on April 25, 1948.
Donnie was a native
craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands, making jewelry and
furniture. He loved spending time in the wilderness fishing,
hunting, and trapping. Donnie was proud of his First Nation
heritage and honoured his culture by making his own regalia and
travelling the PowWow trail to dance and sell his crafts. He
loved speaking his first language, reciting stories of the customs and
traditions.
Donnie is survived by
his wife, Dawn, his daughters: April Paul (Derek), Amanda Stafford,
Anna Rojas (Mykul) and his son: Donald Paul (Danielle). His
grandchildren Holly Paul, Terrance Paul, Allyson Paul, Laura
Buchanan-Paul, Roger Paul, Gavin Paul, Brookie Paul, Ashlyn Stafford,
Madison Stafford, 10 great grandchildren, his brothers Gary Paul
(Joan), Darryl Paul (Karen) and his sisters Sharon Paul (Donna) and
Annie Sacobie (Glen). He is preceded in death by his son
Rodney, daughter Monica, his sister Carmel, his brother Bobby, and his
parents.
Donnie will be
resting at 10 Sacobie Court, Saint Mary’s First Nation
beginning Saturday, January 29th, until Tuesday
February 1st, 2022. A funeral service
will be held, with social distancing measures in place, on Tuesday
February 1st, 2022, at 11AM from the
Maqiyahtimok Center. Pallbearers will be Nathan Paul, Dennis Bear,
Terrance Paul, Duane Paul and Martin Paul.

Alzheimer’s Society or the NB Heart & Stroke
Foundation.
