It is with great sorrow that on
September 3, 2022 Donald Trueman Morrow passed away peacefully at
Hospice Albert House at the age of 87 with his wife Claudette of 40
years at his side. Donald was the son of Elva (Miller) Morrow and
Trueman Morrow, husband to Claudette Morrow, brother to Shirley (Bob)
Poley, and Sandra (Ren) MacKenzie. Don is survived by his son James
Morrow, step children Mark and Cary (Sue) MacDonald, and Michelle
(Ian) Breed. Grandchildren, Paul MacDonald, Kara (Eric) Gibbs, Scott
MacDonald, Jordon Morrow. Great grandchildren, Hayden, Paisley,
Jackson and Chatham. Predeceased by his parents Trueman and Elva
Morrow and grandson Eric MacDonald.
Don was born on February 25,
1935. He was raised in Saint John, N.B. where he attended S.J.
Vocational School and later UNB. He enjoyed a 40 year career in Civil
Engineering where he made lifelong friends, some of whom he lunched
with every wednesday at Jean’s. The second career that he enjoyed was
buying, renovating and reselling many houses. Don was known in his
younger days for his hockey career and was later inducted into the
hockey hall of fame in Summerside, PEI and the greater Sus sports
wall of fame. Don loved to travel and spent many years motorhoming
across Canada and the U.S. with family and friends. Don also spent 30
winters in Florida where he enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and
playing pickleball. He belonged to the Canadian Club – Loonies and
Toonies, the Perfect Circle Motorcoach Group and the Grand Lodge of
New Brunswick.
Don will be remembered by all
who knew him as a good and decent man, a gentleman, a man who loved
his home, family and friends. He enjoyed having a project and was
always willing to help others. Don had a unique sense of humor that
continued through to the very end, even with the nurses who cared for
him. A special thank you to all those who were so kind and caring in
his final days and especially those at Albert House. In lieu of
flowers, donations to Hospice Albert House would be
appreciated.
Everyone is invited to the
celebration of life for Don at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 2:00 to
