Obituary for
Donald Roy “Squiz” Blair
It is with deep sadness the Blair family announces the passing of Don “Squiz” Blair, of Whitecourt, AB, on March 23, 2022.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Susan; children, Karen (Christopher) Johnston, William Blair, Bonnie (Andrew) McPhee; grandchildren, Morgan, Austin O., Austin J. and Jakob; brothers, Jerry and Brian; and many more dear relatives, co-workers and friends.
Don is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Margaret; brothers, Ronnie, Wayne and Alvin.
Don was born June 7, 1954, in Grande Prairie where he and his brothers grew up playing hockey and baseball. In 1973 Don moved to Whitecourt where he met the love of his life, Susan and together they built a wonderful life and raised their three children.
Don logged by trade for many years and recently changed careers to driving a garbage truck. He deeply loved his family and grandchildren and enjoyed sharing his passion with them for the Blue Jays, Oilers, and golfing. Don was always willing to help anyone in need and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the Whitecourt First Responders, and the doctors and staff of the Whitecourt Health Centre for the support and care shown to Don and the family.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held Friday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion, 4928-51 Avenue, Whitecourt. Reverend Ruth Lotholz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Whitecourt Society, Box 1101, Whitecourt AB.
