In the only way Donnie knew how to do things, after battling cancer head on, he
suddenly succumbed to the fight in the early morning hours on January 25th
, 2022, at the
Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 74.
Donald Richard Keoughan was born on November 27th, 1947, in Chatham, New
Brunswick where he worked and lived his entire life. He graduated from St. Thomas high school,
and soon thereafter he met the love of his life Adora whom he married and spent the rest of his
life with. Donnie always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips, and he was actively
involved in the sports world coaching many hockey and baseball teams. Through his many
career adventures, he made many close relationships at every single stop. Of the numerous
different hobbies he had, a cup of coffee always somehow found a way into his hand. One of
his tremendous attributes was his ability to tell a lighthearted story which is always related to
the situation at hand, and most importantly he had the uncanny wit to torment every one of his
friends and family.
Survived by his wife; Adora, his son; Shannon (Carrie) of Hampton, NB, his two
granddaughters; Brianna and Bethany of Hampton, NB, his brothers; Father John, Karsten (late
Wilma), Terry (Ruby), Kevin of Miramichi NB, his sister; Karla of Miramichi, NB, his two nieces;
Cheryl McKay, and Tammy Matchett of Miramichi, NB, and his two nephews; Bernard, and
Jason of Miramichi, NB.
Predeceased by his parents; Hilda and Pat Keoughan, his brothers; Laurie and Edward
Keoughan.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no visitation held. A funeral service will be
held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are in the care of Maher’s funeral
home (www.mahersfh.com) of Miramichi.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Donald Richard Keoughan 25 Jan 2022..
