Donald Peter “Don”
Worsley – 64,
Brookfield, passed away peacefully, with loving family at his side, on
Friday, May 13, 2022, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late
Donald and Mary (Aucoin) Worsley.
Don worked for 28 years at Coast Tire, where he was a valued
employee and thoroughly enjoyed his interactions with colleagues and
clients. In earlier years, he played baseball with Truro Commercial
and District Softball League, having played with ASE team. He also
enjoyed golfing. Don was a homebody who was content staying close to
home, tinkering around the yard, being backyard mechanic for family
and friends and holding Sunday “church” in the garage! He
was proud of the camp that he and his son built in Bass River and
enjoyed the time that he spent there.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Vickie
(Finck); children, Mike (Becky) Worsley, Angela (Allan) MacKenzie;
grandchildren, Katrina, Ella, Ava, Connor, Mathew, Loren; sister, Pat
(Andy) Lyall; brothers, Mike (Angela) Worsley, John (Cathie) Worsley;
many friends that are like family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Don’s
family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022. If
so desired, donations in Don’s memory to a bursary that will
be established in his name for Nova Scotia Auto Apprenticeship Program
at NSIT are welcomed and can be made through the funeral home. Private
