Donald Glenn Magnusson January 13 1962January 1 2022

With deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear brother Glenn in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Glenn was the eldest of four siblings and was born in Lac La Ronge Saskatchewan. His childhood was spent in many different places in Canada including Dawson Creek, Peace River, Calgary, Edmonton and Bramalea. His heart was always in the mountains and Blue Rock, Alberta was a cherished place for Glenn.
Glenn spent the last few decades living in Winnipeg. He completed Electrical Engineering with honours at Red River College and had a satisfying career at MTS. He often spoke of his adventures, working in the field in many different locations around Manitoba.
Glenn loved a good joke and had a unique sense of humour. He took great pleasure in the look of shock an off colour joke could produce. He also loved music. All three of his sisters were initiated at a young age to the Kiss Army, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and so much more, simply by hearing the music at the highest possible volume coming from his bedroom. He laid the ground work for each of us to develop our own love of music and expand our musical taste beyond The Bay City Rollers. Reading was another passion that Glenn held. His love of books helped him through many long years of dialysis. He became enthralled with space and science at a young age and never lost his interest.
Glenn was predeceased by his mother Margaret Rixen and step-father Doug Rixen. He is survived by sisters Kelly (Marcel), Sandy (Eriks) and Karen (Tom) as well as step-brother Daniel Rixen. He is missed and fondly remembered by his six nieces and nephews Jamie, Laura, Evan, Sam, Duncan and Trevor. He also leaves behind, his father Don Magnusson.
Lastly, he leaves behind his two adored cats, Baby and Spike. They were well loved by Glenn and were his dear companions. They will miss him terribly. We know that Glenn is with Mom now and she is probably cooking him an incredible meal, with love.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Glenn’s memory to The Kidney Foundation. Also, please consider signing your donor card and speaking to your loved ones about your wishes and the importance of organ donation.
