Donald Don Joseph May 2022

Donald (Don)’s Obituary
Donald (Don) Joseph May passed away peacefully in his home on July 14, 2022, in Creston, BC at the age of 75 years.
Donald was born March 31, 1947, in Badger, NL to parents Mary and Reaties May.
Don was a loving and committed husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved his family and worked hard to provide and care for them. He was a dedicated hard rock miner who spent 54 years working in mines across the country, finishing his career with 33 years in Red Lake, Ontario. He was easily recognized underground by his crooked hard hat and lamp around his neck. Don was proud of his work and loved what he did. Over a cup of coffee and a game of crib he loved to tell stories about his childhood in Newfoundland, his time travelling across Canada, and his many years working underground. He was known as a loving, kind, and hardworking man as well as a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Arlene, children Victoria, Donald (Kelly), Catherine, Stephanie (Bradley), Richard (Tara), Sean, Kristin (Roger), his 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Don is predeceased by his parents Mary and Reaties, siblings Patricia, Margaret and William, and little daughter Angela.
His family and friends feel his loss gravely and his presence will be missed more than words could possibly express.
