Donald Clayton Don Hewitt Tuesday September 13th 2022

HEWITT, Donald Clayton “Don” (Sept. 29, 1956 – Sept. 13, 2022) – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Don at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022. Loving son of the late Ken and Joyce Hewitt. Beloved husband to Calla Hewitt. Father to Bobbi-Jo and Allan. Grandfather to Alyssa , Madison and Jenna, Brother to Arlene, Jim, David and Ian. He was also a loved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and had a wide network of friends and co-workers. Predeceased by his sister Myrna.
Don was a quiet man with not many words. He was an observer and great listener. He loved our family with all his heart and would do anything for any of us. He was a hard ass at times with a great work ethic and helped shape our kids into the hard working, successful people they are today. He’s been apart of my life almost 45 years. Don was like a big brother to many siblings and their children. We often took them camping and many other excursions. As well as his own siblings and nieces and nephews. He had a bond with many friends and co-workers and would do anything for them as well.
Donny was a Lithographer “printer’ for 44 years. 3 doctors have told us even though he smoked for 50 years “yup”. The chemicals that he worked with was in their opinion and expertise all contributed to his very aggressive and invasive cancer!! He was the most amazing caring loving husband a woman could ask for!! We were soul mates and best friends. An extraordinary father to our children, his love for them was extreme. An awesome grandpa to our 3 granddaughters.
Our lives have been heartbroken and shattered. His battle with cancer was courageous but so sudden. WE feel comforted his battle was short and for the most near the end he was pain free and kept very comfortable. Bobbi-Jo, Allan, and I (Calla) were by his side as often as possible. Also by my side, we took care of each other as a family.
Don will be missed by many. We know he was welcomed into heaven by many that predeceased him. They are all together now. Don was 65 and would have been 66 on September 29th. Taken too soon. In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Our family is overwhelmed with so so many supporters. We appreciate all your kind words, messages and phone calls. That’s what has kept us all going during this difficult time.
Until we meet again Don. We love you so much!!!
Love Calla
