It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Donald Clarence Rice announces his passing from the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, Baie Verte, NL on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 91 years.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is his wife of 61 years, Gilda Rice, Baie Verte, NL; children, David Rice (Linda), Seal Cove, NL, Ruby Frampton, CBS, NL, Mary Rice, Baie Verte, NL, Shawn Rice (Lisa), Prince George, BC, Barry Rice (Marcia), Seal Cove, NL, Annabella Cashin (Marty), Winnipeg, MB and Aubrey Rice (Rhonda), Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Kristopher Rice (Diane), Ashley Rice (Okliek), Collin Rice (Julia), Evan Frampton (Lena), Renee Frampton (Steven), Andrew Rice (Michelle), Jonathan Rice, Michael Rice, Lezlee Rice, Logan Cashin and Leia Cashin; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Len Rice (Pansy), Whitehorse, YT; siblings-in-law, Gaye Moreau (Lorne), Garry Jacobs (Jacqueline), Wilson Jacobs, Brenda Jacobs and Lydia Cowie (James); his extended family at White Bay Retirement Centre and Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Donald is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Annabella Rice; infant brother; siblings, Maude Abbott (Richard), Ethel Gillingham (Edmund), Eleanor Rideout (Woodrow) and Chesley Rice; parents-in-law, Andrew and Myrtle Jacobs; siblings-in-law, Jocelyn and John Jacobs.
Public visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The family is requesting that masks be worn by all visitors.
The funeral service will take place from St. Swithin’s Anglican Church, Seal Cove, NL on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2pm with Reverend Madonna Boone officiating. Interment will follow at St. Swithin’s Anglican Cemetery, Seal Cove, NL. The family is requesting that masks be worn by all attending.
