Obituary
Donald Honore Joseph Breland
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle. Donald passed away on March 19, 2022 at the age of 63 years.
Donald leaves his loving family to celebrate his life and cherish all of the memories; his father Ernest, his sisters Sylvia (Wayne), Jeannine (Larry), and his brothers Arnold (Noreen) and Paul (Shaunne). He was adored by all of his nieces and nephews; Shayne (Christy), Tyler, Chantal (Jonathan), Kyle (Nancy), Tyson (Alicia), Kendelle (Jamie), Bailey (Layton), Braden (Layla) and great nieces and nephews Kyrin, Brie, Harbour, Emersyn, Noelle and Beau and is survived by two aunts who adored him very much Eglantine and Adrienne.
Donald was predeceased by his mother Lucille, his sister Simone and his niece Brittany.
Donald resided at the Leisure Apartments in Ste. Rose for many years and later moved to the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home. He loved riding his bide and anyone that knew him can surely tell you that he made many miles on his bike. Numerous trips to Dauphin, McCreary, Laurier and Eddystone and he picked up many cans along the way. He traded his bike in for a scooter. Donald took so much pride in his scooter and could be seen making many trips around town.
He loved to play cards and Bingo. He enjoyed cards with his family and looked forward to his Bingo games with all of his friends at the Gendreau Home. Donald loved country music and would spend hours listening to his favorite music by Johnny Cash. He would even grab a guitar and sing a few songs for everyone. Donald spent hours attending the Adult Day program at the Gendreau Home making people laugh and would sit for hours peeling pails of potatoes each day to help out.
Donald was known to many as Chiga. He was one of a kind and we will forever hold on to all of the memories that we have with him. He holds a very special place in all of our hearts and we will miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank the Dr. Gendreau Personal Care Home and Ste Rose Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion they provided for him.
