Whittaker, Donald
With heavy hearts, the family of Donald Arthur Whittaker announce his passing from this world into eternal life on September 5th, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Donald hauled pulp and gas for many years and would later retire as a beloved school bus driver. He was known for his tireless work ethic and generous nature. For Donald, there was always joy to be had in a job well done.
As a dedicated member of Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse, Donald happily worked in service to his faith and church family.
Born in Sand Brook, N.B., he was the son of Frank and Lucinda Whittaker.
He will be dearly missed by his son Stephen Whittaker (Patricia); daughters Janet Whittaker and Teresa Reid (Mark); grandchildren Jeremy Edwards, Laura Aubin, Katelin Whittaker, Allison Cassista, Ashley Baker and Nicholas Reid; great grandchildren Claire, Grace, Zachery, Averie, Jack, Francis and Frederick; brother Doug Whittaker; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Donald is predeceased by his loving wife Marguerite and special friend Betty Horne. Gone before him are also his brothers Morris, Lloyd, Glenn, Eldon and Ralph; sisters Margaret Wholesworth and Mary Graham.
Visitation to be held at Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse on Wednesday, September 7th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral to be held at Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse on Thursday, September 8th, at 2 p.m. and immediately followed by committal at Patterson Cemetery. Refreshments and fellowship to be held at Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse after committal.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
