Passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday February 24, 2022 in his 84th year. Loving father of Rose Robinson. Dear grandpa of Todd, Karlie and Brody. He will be greatly missed by his partner Shirley Dwinnel and her children Greg and Randy. Don remained friends with his former wife Betty Micks (nee Gummer). Dear brother of Mary Young (Carl) and Eileen Gamble (late Robert) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Rachel (nee Campbell) Micks and Harold Micks, and brother John Micks.
Don worked as a welder at the Collingwood Shipyards for many years. Don enjoyed woodworking and has created many heirlooms to remain as a lasting memory. As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. If desired, a donation in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
