The family of Don B Wong of Edmonton is saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, at the age of 91 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his immediate family, especially by his wife, Amy Wong; daughters, Judy (Mark) and Janey; granddaughter, Jasmine; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
Don was born in a small village in China called Middle Harvest Village. At 24 years old, he came to Alliance, Alberta, to help his grandfather operate the Rex Café. Then in March 1975, he moved the family to settle in Edmonton. He became a Guest Service Attendant at the Westin Hotel in 1975, and retired in 2015, at the age of 85 years. He learned the value of meaningful customer service for a hotel guest. When he had the chance, he liked to travel. Don also really enjoyed reading and especially liked learning about healthy eating and living. He is very proud of his daughters and granddaughter.
Friends and family will remember Don’s cheerful outlook, work ethic, and his welcoming smile and handshake.
We welcome you to join us for a Celebration of Life for Don to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Don Wong 2022 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
