It is with deep sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Don on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the age of 84. Thirty years retired from Dofasco where he worked in the Payroll office, played baseball at the recreation park and time-kept hockey games for many years. He was an avid sports and Nascar fan. He had recently sold his home in Grimsby where he lived for 50 years. His new retirement life was at Maplecrest Village in Grimsby. He will be greatly missed by his 5 children, Wendy (Steve), Shari (Garfield), Deanna (Tony), Trent (Krista), Crystal (Mark). Loving grandfather and great-grandfather of Joe (Wendy), Marianne (Ian), Alex, Josh, Summer, Maddie, Ty, Brad, Matthew, Brooke, Hunter, and Jack. Survived by his brother, Ken (Wendy) and their children Ken (Katharine) and Chris (Julie). Pre-deceased by his parents Arthur and Margery, and his sister Shirley (Harold). Don will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. where the Funeral Service will take place on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation would be sincerely appreciated.
