Don Hutchinson Tuesday June 21 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Donald Thomas Ivan Hutchinson (aka “Hucko”) on June 21st, 2022, at the age of 75. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Gail Kennedy (Eric), Kim Hutchinson Lewis (James); his grandchildren, Michael, Ian, Corey, Jayden and Myrella; his former wife and now best friend, Donna (Lynden); along with many cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Robena, and siblings, Bob Dunsby (Helen) and Marion Louch (Doug). As a young man, Don worked in printing at John Deyell’s Company and in Markham. He attended Sir Sandford Fleming College where he was certified as a Small Appliance Repairman. Well into retirement, he spent hours tinkering with vacuums, fans and other small appliances. You could find him sitting at Victoria Park on a nice day, or at the Royal Canadian Legion, where he was a longtime member. He was always up for a drink with friends, a good hamburger or a traditional family dinner. Don was very proud of his family, and an especially proud Poppa to his sports-loving grandsons and his ‘little girl.’ He will be deeply missed. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors at PRHC and RMH. As per his wishes, a private family service will be held to celebrate Don’s life at a later date.
“A father holds his daughter’s hand for a while, but he holds her heart forever.” We will miss you, Dad.

  1. Sad to hear of the passing of an old friend and deepest condolences to his family, especially Donna who I went to school with back in the day. Recall sharing lots of laughs, good conversation and a “few” beer with Hucko at the Royal over the early years. There is no doubt he will be missed. Sincerely, Blake Cameron
