Obituary for
Dixie Isabel Duggan
Duggan, Dixie Isabel – Age 77, Lower Truro. We sadly announce the passing of Dixie Isabel Duggan on January 25, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Georgie Fleck (Janice Porter) of Seafoam; brothers, Douglas Boutilier (Jeanette) of Pickering, ON, Ross Boutilier (Brian Mombourquette) of Bedford, Herb Boutilier of Salmon River; sisters, Belinda (George) Taylor of Murray Siding, Deborah (Wade) Yorke of Hilden and Zylpha (Tom) Taggart of Bass River; Goddaughters, Emily (Dwayne) Frizzell of Salmon River and Jennifer Boutilier of Bass River also numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Alice (MacFarlane) Boutilier; father, Douglas Boutilier; husband, Les Duggan (1989); fiancé, Wayne Irving (2015) and Godmother, Florence Hamilton, all of Truro.
Dixie was cared for and thankful for VON homecare and nursing for eight years, enabling her to stay in her own home. She leaves behind her friends who called and dropped in to keep her company, including her Malagash Beach friends where she spent 35 summers in her happy place – her cottage.
Special thanks to Dr. Don Rowe, the Doctors and Nurses at Colchester East Hants Health Centre (2nd and 3rd floors) also, Dr. Lucy Helyer at the Dickson Centre, QEII-VG Site and the QEII-Halifax Infirmary cardiac Doctors and Nurses. Also our heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care team and to Cory Lunn and the Colchester Community Funeral Home for their understanding and assistance at this difficult time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St. Truro, NS. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd from 2 – 4pm in the Colchester Community Funeral Home. COVID-19 restrictions in place. Proof of full vaccination with ID required. Limit of 50 people. Spring interment in the Robie Street Cemetery.
