It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Wack announce her passing on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 79.
Diane passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Diane will be lovingly remembered and survived by her children: Karen (Darrell) and Jason; grandchildren: Jeremy (Andrea), Nathan and Kristen; great-grandchildren: Lucas and Corbin. Diane is also survived by her brother Les (Vicky) and her sister Janice (Richard) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Diane was predeceased by her husband, Ben; parents: Gladys and George Ellis; and brother: Butch; and her beloved family member and pet: Patty Wack.
Diane married the love of her life, Benny, in 1962 and cherished a marriage full of love, laughter and joy for the next 56 years. Ben and Diane loved traveling, spending many winters in Yuma, AZ where they especially enjoyed happy hour with friends. Diane was an extremely talented and creative artist, expressed through paintings, ceramics and many other crafts. Diane was a feisty, kind hearted, and fun loving person, and was always an advocate for those whom she loved. She loved to read, discuss/debate politics, cook, and visit with family and friends. Above all, Diane cherished the time she spent with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM MST at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton, AB.
Diane’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital, Cross Cancer Institute, Strathcona County EMS and the team of physicians, nurses, aids, janitorial staff, volunteers and all medical staff that worked tirelessly to give Diane as much time as possible with her family and loved ones.
