It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Majdell in Montreal on August 26, 2022, at the age of 79.
Beloved wife of the late Ronald Majdell, mother of Lynn and Gary, grandmother of Stephanie Bambara (Anthony), James Bambara, Laura Bambara (Cherif), and great-grandmother of Audrey, Chloe and Theodore.
She is the daughter of the late George and Sue Tabah (Sadaka), and will be fondly remembered by her brothers, Joe Tabah (Monique), Richard Tabah (Vesna), sister, Doris Tabah, wife of the late Guy LaPalme, sister-in-law, Beth Majdell, wife of the late Brian Majdell and her many nieces and nephews.
Diane will be remembered as the love of Ronnie’s life, a devoted mother to her children, an incredible and deeply cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known as “Nanny” to them.
Diane was a passionate interior designer. She was a lover of fine things and this enriched not only the many spheres of her life but the lives of others.
She was an outstanding cook and the ultimate hostess as she and Ronnie enjoyed entertaining their friends and family in their warm, welcoming and beautiful homes.
Diane was an avid bridge player who loved people, life and art. She was always up for an adventure, enjoying skiing, traveling and discovering new places and cultures. She had an amazing sense of style, grace and generosity that will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on September 13, 2022 at Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, starting with visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM, followed by the mass, burial and mercy meal.
A special thanks to the staff at the Oncology ward at the Jewish General Hospital together with her caregivers for their kind and loving support.

C’est avec une profonde tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Diane Majdell à Montréal le 26 août 2022, à l’âge de 79 ans.
Épouse adorée de feu Ronald Majdell, mère de Lynn et Gary, grand-mère de Stephanie Bambara (Anthony), James Bambara, Laura Bambara (Cherif) et arrière-grand-mère d’Audrey, Chloé et Theodore.
Elle est la fille de feu George et Sue Tabah (Sadaka), et laisse dans le deuil ses frères, Joe Tabah (Monique), Richard Tabah (Vesna), sa sœur, Doris Tabah, épouse de feu Guy LaPalme, sa belle- sœur, Beth Majdell, épouse de feu Brian Majdell et ses nombreux neveux et nièces.
Diane restera dans les mémoires comme l’amour de la vie de Ronnie, une mère dévouée à ses enfants, une grand-mère et une arrière-grand-mère incroyable et profondément chérie, affectueusement surnommée “Nanny” par ces derniers.
Diane était une designer d’intérieur passionnée. Elle adorait les belles choses et cela a enrichi non seulement les nombreuses sphères de sa vie, mais également la vie des autres.
Elle était une cuisinière exceptionnelle et l’hôtesse ultime, puisque Ronnie et elle-même aimaient recevoir leurs amis et leur famille dans leurs maisons chaleureuses, accueillantes et magnifiques.
Diane était une joueuse de bridge enthousiaste qui aimait les gens, la vie et l’art. Elle était toujours partante pour l’aventure, appréciant le ski, les voyages et la découverte de nouveaux lieux et cultures. Elle avait un sens incroyable du style, de la grâce et de la générosité qui nous manquera beaucoup mais qui ne sera jamais oublié.
Les funérailles auront lieu le 13 septembre 2022 au Complexe funéraire Mont-Royal, 1297, chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, en commençant par les condoléances de 9 h à 11 h, suivies de la messe, de l’enterrement et du repas de miséricorde.
La famille tient à remercier le personnel du service d’oncologie de l’Hôpital général juif ainsi qu’à ses soignants pour leur soutien aimable et affectueux.

    We were saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. When reading the obituary, I fondly remembered the warm hospitality your parents showed us anytime we were in their home and the wonderful family parties they hosted. Your mother’s artistic flair truly made them events to remember

    Your beautiful Mother had that precious and rare gift of lighting up any room into which she entered, simply with her mere presence. It was her sparkling smile, her fashion elegance, her kind demeanour to all, and that constant sparkle in her eyes that drew everyone towards her.

    That special “sparkle”, is what made her a star among her family, her friends, and undoubtedly with anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

    The evening sky is so much brighter now all thanks to its newest addition, your Mother, Diane – the Shining Star.
