Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Bognar (nee Tilley). Diane passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Oct. 3, 2022.
Diane was born in Buchans, Newfoundland to Jack and Leah Tilley. She moved away at a young age, but she was always proud of her roots and loved bumping into fellow Newfoundlanders to talk about the Rock and reminisce. After many years living in Ontario, she followed her husband Joe’s dreams of living and retiring in the Okanagan Valley in BC with their children. She fell in love with its beauty and charm. It has been her home since 1991 and she has never wanted to leave, even after Joe’s passing in 2013.
Diane is remembered as being selfless and caring. She always put her children and family first. She was a great listener and a great friend and always had a kind word for others. She would sit and chat with anyone and always knew how to make someone feel better.
She will be greatly missed by her children Tracey (Allen), Tammy (Tony), Joey (Megan), and Kim (Mark), her grandchildren, Stephanie, Aaron, Jolissa, Avery, and Mackenzie. Her brothers Calvin (Barb) and Kendell (Georgina), her nieces and nephews, and her loving partner Ben, who stuck by her side through many illnesses and hospital visits. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends, old and new, who she had made throughout her journey of life.
Diane is now reunited with her mom & dad and her late husband Joe, who she dearly missed.
