Diane Grant Saturday July 9th 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Diane Grant announce her passing, with family by her side on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in her 88th year. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, Diane attended Queen’s University and later Lakehead University where she completed her Master’s Degree in English.
Diane loved writing, research and local history and she combined these passions by publishing “The Street Names of Thunder Bay” and then donating the book and all the rights for it to the Thunder Bay Historical Society in 1999. Previously, she self-published “The Annals of Silver-Grandview” in 1995, she donated numerous copies of the book to the Silver Campers Association for self-fundraising.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael in 1998 as well as her parents Jean and William Banks and brother Terry. Diane is survived by her sons Stephen and Peter (Ulla) and daughter Cynthia Jane as well as her grandchildren; Megan (Andrew Dietrich), Andrew (Sarah Snider), and Jessica Serson.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Pioneer Ridge – Plaza 1 for the incredible love and support they have shown Diane over the past 5 years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Randy Boyd officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Museum or Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
