Dan’s family is saddened to announce that he suddenly but peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at the age of 52 years. Beloved husband of the late Lori (2014). Proud and devoted father of Cole and dear friend of Jolene. Loving son of Lionel and Shirley Pitre and son-in-law of Dale and Mary Thompson. Dear brother of Colleen (Roger), Ron (Eugenia), Mary (Peter), Darlene (Ed), David (Angeline), the late Robert and Karen (Gary). Brother-in-law of Chris (Susy), Andrea and Robin. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.
Dan proudly served with Toronto Police Services for over 13 years. In 2022 he was recognized for his service, receiving a Police Officer Excellence Award and the Medal of Merit. He will be fondly remembered by the members of 31 Division and those he worked with on various projects and task forces.
Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass to be held the following day on Monday, June 27th, 2022 at 10 am at the St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane., Barrie. A Livestream Link will be made available here. A private family interment at the St. Mary’s cemetery will occur. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be greatly appreciated by the family.     I would like to share my sincere condolences for your loss. Dan was so supportive of Cole’s participation on our St. Pete’s cross-country team this past fall. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
