Sandy was born in 1959 in the city of Montreal. He was raised alongside his two older brothers playing hockey. His passion for the game continued into his college and university years where he met his wife, Beth. In 1997 Sandy moved with his family to St. Albert where his brother, Donald resided. Sandy loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
