Dennis Michael Arni Zee Zarvie 2022

It is with sadness that we share the sudden passing of Dennis Zarvie, age 62, of Windsor, ON on March 29, 2022.
He leaves behind his spouse of 8 years MJ (Mary Jane) Myers (née Boismier). Second dad to Cassandra Myers and Richard Myers (Kim). Gido to James, Capri, Aaron and Aleena. Will be missed by many family, friends and best buddies Winnie and Bago.
He also leaves behind his 3 daughters Sharlene McKay (husband Tim and daughter Bridgette), Sharri Zarvie and Katherine Wolschinski (husband Matt and children Alexis, Coen, Reid and Charli). He also leaves his sisters Debby Perrin (née Thorarinson) and Marianne Boyer (née Zarvie) in addition to his beautiful and loving extended family of brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
He joins in heaven his sisters Sharon Fox (née Zarvie), Maureen Goertzen (née Zarvie), mother Eileen Zarvie (née Thorarinson), father Michael Zarvie, grandparents Arni and Anna Thorarinson, and niece Melissa Perrin.
Dennis was born on July 9, 1959 and spent his youth on the farm in Walkleyburg, Manitoba with his 4 sisters where he was loved deeply by his mother and grandmother. After graduating from Lord Selkirk High School, he took an electrical apprenticeship in Ear Falls, Ontario at the Griffith Mine that began his long and much loved career. In Ear Falls (1980) he started his family and in 1984 moved to the small mining town of Manitouwadge, Ontario. Along with his family and career, Dennis had a love for the outdoors. Truly content surrounded by nature (and the innate knowledge of where the big ones were biting) he spent many happy hours on the lake with friends and his daughters. Known to many simply as “Zarv” or “Zee” he was a hard worker. Quick to smile and laugh, he charmed many as he moved through life.
In 2001, his career took him to Markstay, Ontario and then in 2014 he met his love MJ (Mary Jane) Myers. On December 26, 2014 Dennis and MJ met for the first time after a brief but successful online dating search. They met in person at Windsor Airport and it was love at first sight. Dennis was MJ’s ying to her yang. He being outgoing and jubilant, and her being quiet and reserved. Dennis had a great memory that held many comical and amusing stories told with endless laughter. They enjoyed many trips, social gatherings and a love of food and cooking together. Dennis built a summer house on Manitoulin Island where they enjoyed endless games of golf and unlimited fishing. He had an infectious laugh, so much so that you couldn’t help but join in. Dennis was a great teacher of his trade and was proud of all the apprentices he trained throughout his 40 year profession.
On Wednesday, April 6, 2022 all are welcome to attend the Celebration of Dennis’ Life – a party, just as he would want – from 4-8 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Cremation to follow. For those who wish, donations may be made to your local Humane Society.
Rest in Peace, Zee.
