It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Debra Johnson (Reid) at her residence on December 31, 2021 at the age of 59. Debbie was born in Brockville on April 5, 1962 and has resided here her whole life. Her infectious laugh, and the love she had for her family and friends will be dearly missed.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents Joseph Reid and Arlene Reid. She is survived by her loving partner of 12 years Don Corneil, her three children Jessica (Josh), Meagan and Andrew. She was the adoring nana to Jordyn, Patricia and Liam. Debbie will be missed by her loving siblings Jo-Anne Bell, Bill Reid and Janet Kittle (Rob) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Debbie loved life and her family. She loved nothing more then having a house full of family and friends and cooking for them all. Her cooking was second to none. She loved music, with her ultimate favorite being The Tragically Hip. She attended live concerts countless times and was almost always playing their music when you would visit her. In most recent years Debbie loved her time as a legion member and was proud of her time as the First Lady to then President Don Corneil. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and taking part in Legion festivities .Debbie loved giraffe’s and whales; and looked forward to their yearly summer trip whale watching. “With illusions of someday, cast in a golden light, No dress rehearsal, this is our life.” ~ The Tragically Hip.
Officer’s and members of the Brockville Legion Br. 96 are invited to a Legion Service at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E., Brockville on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:30 am followed by public visitation from 12 to 3 pm. Covid restrictions are in place with all guests required to RSVP online at www.irvinememorial.com or by calling our office 613-342-2828 between 9 – 4:30 pm. A private family service will be held in the chapel. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Brockville Hospital Foundation -Palliative Care or Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated.
