Deanna Maxine Gates – age 72, of Yarmouth, went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2022, with her family by her side. She was a daughter to the late Archie and Mildred (Ball) Fevens. Deanna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a devoted pastor’s wife with a strong faith and a love for Jesus. Deanna was an extremely creative and exceptionally talented crafter. She loved to make cards, paint and write poetry. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Robert Gates, Yarmouth; children, Shelly (Shane) Lyons, Oxford, N.S; Colin (Louanne) Gates, Lower Saulnierville; siblings, Wayne (Debbie) Fevens, Coldbrook; Nancy (Warren) Fitzgerald, Yarmouth; Dale (Stephanie) Fevens, Blockhouse; grandchildren, Wyatt and Julia Gates; and mother-in-law, Mary Gates. Besides her parents, Deanna was predeceased by her father-in-law, Robert E. Gates and sister-in-law, Debbie (Joudrey) Gates. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2 P.M in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Minard officiating. Interment for family only will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Kemptville. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Wycliffe Bible Translators, or World Vision. Online condolences are available at: sweenys@sweenysfuneralhome.net
