Dean Alton Lutz, born 19 August 1936 (86): It is with great sadness the family of Dean Lutz announce his passing on 4 November 2022. Born in Lake George, NS; he was the son of the late Melborne Lutz and Ceritha Lutz (neé Taylor).
Dean was very family-oriented and loved spending time with family, whether it was a family trip or a simple phone call. He especially liked taking his grandchildren to the zoo. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, long drives, and farming. He had a love of animals and spent many years working with them on farms. In later years, he also enjoyed puzzles.
Dean is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Chad) Smith of Ontario; Sheryl (Rick Weagle) Leopold of Berwick; son, Paul (Samantha) Durling of Ontario; grandchildren, Jordan, Jessica, William, Megan, Alyssa, Amber, Kacey, and Brody; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Paisley, and Payton; sisters, Lillian (Ernest) Arnburg and Laura Williamson.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Diane; brothers, Walter, Ernie, and Benny; sister, Gladys; and two siblings in infancy.
Adhering to Dean’s wishes a Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, November 8 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Serenity Funeral Home & Chapels, Coldbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dean’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation , Diabetes Canada , or to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
