Dawson Osbourne Taylor
1942-2022
Dawson Osbourne Taylor, husband of Doris Taylor of Black River Bridge, New Brunswick, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on November 5, 2022, at the age of 80.
Born in Napan Bay, NB, on February 20, 1942, he was the son of both the late Lewis and Rubina “Ruby” (Watling) Taylor. He was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church. Dawson worked for Newcastle Ready Mix for over 40 years. He was also a former member of the North Shore Trotting Association, and raised race horses. In later years, he enjoyed his trips to Tim Horton’s to catch up with friends. He loved his family and especially adored his granddaughter, Hannah.
He will be missed by his wife of 58 years, Doris; son, Darren Taylor of Black River Bridge, daughter, Rhonda Lamkey (Donnie) of Napan, beloved granddaughter, Hannah; one sister, Dawn Holland of Napan Bay; and four brothers: Blake (Evelyn) of Napan, Wayne (Betty Anne) of Napan Bay, Murray (Debbie) of Orillia, ON, Alden (Judy) of Canning, NS. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Dawson is predeceased by his brothers: Carman, and infant brother, Kenneth.
In keeping with Dawson’s wishes, there will be a private visitation and private graveside service with The Reverend David Allan and Pastor Willard Watling as Officiants. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, NB, or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by family.
