David Roy Shenk
January 9, 1939 – September 20, 2022
It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Roy Schenk at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the age of 83 years.
Dave was an extremely hard worker, retiring at the age of 79 years. Dave loved taking the time to stop and visit people, and especially loved children. For many years he played “Santa”, until he was recognized. He always had a pocketful of candy. Affectionately known as “Candy Man”, he found great joy in handing them out to the kids he met. More recently, Dave found great pleasure in riding around town on his scooter, stopping to visit and lend a helping hand removing snow and ice from the sidewalks of different local businesses. His help was always greatly appreciated and his presence will certainly be missed.
Dave will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Sharon; many extended family and wonderful friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Albert and sister, Faye Pashko.
Sharon would like to send her most heartfelt thanks to her friends and church family for their kindness, support and compassion as she goes through this most difficult time.
As requested, a private family service will be held.
