Obituary of David Houston
Houston: David Ralph “Haircut” a resident of Leamington and formerly of Dresden, passed away peacefully at The Erie Shores Hospice, Leamington on January 6, 2022. Born in Chatham Twp., son of the late Ralph and Leona (Gould) Houston. Haircut was Past President and valued member of the Dresden Kinsmen Club, a member of the Dresden Hall of Fame Committee and Maple City Golf and Country Club. He loved to play hockey, golf, and was an avid New York Rangers fan. He was always always ready to give his time and lend a hand for his community. Loving life partner of Sandra Morley. Dear brother of Al Houston (Jolene) of Dresden. Loving uncle of Lindsay Osborne (Marty), Ian Houston (Shannon), Leanne Whitehouse (Mike), Beth Elgie-Boulard (Eric), Jennifer Becker (Chris), Jim Elgie (Amy). Loving step-father of Gavin Clayton (Connie), Brent Clayton (Suzanne). Sadly missed by his step-grandchildren Ronin, Malaya, Everly, Adeline, Harland, and Annorah. Also survived by his nieces and nephews and many many friends. Predeceased by his sister Dona Elgie and her late husband Richard. At Haircut’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held when restrictions have been lifted. If desired donations to the Kinsmen Club of Dresden (740 Tecumseh St., Box 253, Dresden, ON, CA. N0P 1M0 no receipt issued) or if a receipt is required donations to the Kin Canada Foundation c/o the Dave “Haircut” Houston Memorial Fund (1920 Rogers Drive P.O Box 3460 Cambridge, ON N3H 5C6 ) would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder Funeral Home and Reception Centre, Dresden (519-683-4444).
