Obituary
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of David Warren Sparkes age 60yrs of Port Saunders, NL announce his unexpected yet peaceful passing after a brief illness at Health Sciences Center on August 11,2022 surrounded by his family.
Predeceased by Grandparents Edna and Fred Roberts of St. Anthony, Mary and Eliab Sparkes of Lower Island Cove and Mother & Father-in-law Margaret and Francis Power of Brigus South.
Dave leaves behind many people who loved him especially his wife Christina, son Adrian of Port Saunders, Parents Ephraim and Marina Sparkes of St Anthony, Brother Bob (Cindy) Alberta, sisters Lisa (Bill), Lynn (Rick) and Lori (Sheldon) all of Corner Brook. Also, a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other members of the Sparkes, Roberts and Power families.
We are broken hearted but we will always take comfort in the knowledge that he lived a full life. His compassionate personality led him to pursue a career in Social Work and allowed him to work within his home province. He formed lasting bonds with colleagues and clients alike and his empathetic approach to client care will surely be missed. He had a wonderful dry sense of humour that sometimes led to detailed stories that only his work family could appreciate. As one of his colleagues shared, we hope he has found comfort and peace on this journey.
After his immediate family Dave had four great loves; his wife Christina, his son Adrian, music, and the Great Outdoors not always necessarily in that order. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing and would never turn down an opportunity to be outside.
If he was inside, Dave could be found with any musical instrument that was close at hand. Growing up in a musical family Dave developed a passion for guitar at a young age and was beyond proud when he was able to share this passion with his son Adrian. Of all his accomplishments becoming a father was his greatest and he loved his son beyond measure.
