It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Roy Hodgson on Friday September 2, 2022 at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer. On the day of his passing he was surrounded by family and loved ones who will continue to honour his memory by living their lives to the fullest.
Dave will be missed and cherished forever by his wife of 34 years Judy (Potters) Hodgson, son Stephen (Alyssa Innes), son Derek, daughter Janet (Ian Foss), and grandchildren Avery, Parker, Julia, and Lauryn. Survived by brothers Phil (Alice), Rick (Louise), and sisters Janet (Don), and Linda as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Predeceased by his sister Marilyn and his parents Lille and Harold.
Dave loved watching and playing golf, had a hobby of rebuilding computers, and was a wiz with numbers. He had a great sense of humour, and a soft spot for his grandchildren, and often attended their sporting events. He loved motorcycles and road tripping with Judy on their trike, a cold craft beer, sitting around a campfire, and always appreciated a good meal with family, (especially if it ended with lemon meringue pie).
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or to Alexandra Hospital Foundation.
Arrangements entrusted to McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames Street South Ingersoll, Ontario (519-425-1600). Personal condolences may be posted at www.mcbeathdynes.ca
