DAVID “DAVE” PENNER
October 7, 19356-June 7, 2022
Peacefully and with family by his side, Dave Penner went to his forever home in Heaven.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Penner, two infant brothers, grandson Steven and son-in-law Wayne. What a reunion that must have been!
Dave grew up in Bergfeld MB, attended the EMMC Church and was baptized in 1953. In 1955 he married Dora Giesbrecht and moved to Winnipeg.
Dave worked with TransCanada Pipeline all across Canada for many many years. When he “retired” in 1984 he took up farming close to his home in Winnipeg and building his dream cedar log cabin in Woodridge, MB when he was not fishing at Whitemouth Lake or ice fishing on the Red River with his sons or planting thousand of trees at his childrens’ (Dave, Judy and Gord’s) huge yards.
Dave is survived by his wife Dora (66 years), sons Jim (Darlene), Gordon (Holly), Dave, daughter Judy, and grandchildren Darren, Mhyrrannah, James, Lily and Violet; sister Susan (George), brothers Pete (Anne) and Ken (Marla) and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside family service, officiated by Pastor Jacob Friesen will be held at Bergfeld Church Cemetery, close to his mother and father). For map directions, Google “Bergfeld Mennonite Church” and follow the links.
Dave’s closing message was
“auf wiedersehen”
Until we meet again… … …
