David Martin Monday October 3rd 2022

A beloved husband, father, brother, and friend has passed away, and the world is forever changed.
His parting words to those he loved are written below:
“I was born in Toronto on September 11, 1965 to Carol and Glenn. I recently passed on October 3, 2022 in Thunder Bay after giving various forms of cancer a real battle for more than a year.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have been married to my beautiful, caring, and smart wife Susan. It was love at first sight the moment I set eyes on her over 31 years ago. Her love was more than I bargained for or deserved.
I am also very fortunate to have two very different and great kids, Breanne (Nick) and Brad. You have paved your own paths but remain caring, funny, and hard working adults. I am one proud Dad.
To my sister Cindy (children Jamie & Jack)—I had three great years as an only child and then you upset the apple cart… for the better. You are stronger than you know.
I have had the distinct pleasure of coaching sports into five decades and being a financial advisor for 26 years. I want to thank the players, parents, and many clients with whom I have built such wonderful memories and relationships. Your acceptance of this ‘City Boy’ did not go unnoticed.
Thank you to everyone for thoughts, prayers, food, and overall support. It is truly appreciated. There are so many friends I’d like to thank. For brevity and not to miss anyone, just know your presence has been felt.
Huge respect and gratitude to all the health care professionals for the care and compassion.
To the Boucher/Tees, Martin, and Simpson families I love you all.
To my wife and children remember – you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know. I love you.
Dave”
