Our family is sad to announce the sudden passing of David Leverick on December 3, 2022 at the St. Boniface Hospital.
He will be deeply missed and remembered by his best friend and loving wife, Lesley. He is survived by his mother, Doreen, siblings Mike (Pam) and Jane, niece Kate (Matt), nephew Graham (Lisa), children Angela, Ashten and Michael, stepchildren Monica and Robin (Carla), grandchildren and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Sidney.
Dave was born in London, England on July 4, 1956 and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1967. Following school, he joined the Canadian Navy and was posted in Esquimalt, enjoying his time in the navy very much. He then joined the Coquiltlam Fire Service, spending over 25 years in the department and ending up as Chief of Fire Investigation. Dave loved camping, fishing and exploring BC with Lesley and made so many good memories.
Cremation has taken place as per David’s wishes and no formal service will be held. A family memorial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the paramedics and firefighters who tried to save his life. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
