David Joseph Gibson 2022

David Joseph Gibson was born February 21, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta. David died in Calgary, Alberta, February 2nd 2022 of Covid 19.
As a young man David worked in his parent’s accounting and income tax business. After graduating from Wainwright High School in June of 1964 he attended the University of Alberta studying business and accounting. Over the years David also worked in various oilfield jobs, and eventually as a pipe-fitter throughout Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He also worked many seasons for H&R Block as a tax preparer. In 2005 David moved to Calgary and worked for the Calgary Urban Project, and then from 2009 to 2014 for Central United Church. He resided in Calgary until his death.
In his spare time, David loved to read. He had a passion for hockey and was a dedicated fan of the Edmonton Oilers. He also enjoyed coin collecting, always looking for old and rare coins.
David will be sadly missed by his family including his sister Faith (Jerry) Luebke of Fargo, North Dakota, USA, his brother Thomas Gibson of Duck Lake, SK, brother Dan (Mary) Gibson of Rosthern, SK, three nephews, Michael, Matthew and Josiah, and a niece Julie Gibson. He was preceded in death by his father David in 1966 and his mother Hattie in 2011. Interment will take place February 18th at the Wainwright Cemetery.
