Obituary of David George Allan Payton
It is with broken hearts that the Payton family announces the passing of David George A. Payton in his 76th year. On Tuesday September 21, 2021, from esophageal cancer, at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood. David passed peacefully with the love of his life, Brenda, by his side.
An amazing father to David(Denean), Dawn, John and Tricia(Pete). The best Poppa to Deanna, Michelle &Ty, Tarah & Brandy, and Payton & Adam. A Great Poppa to Brody & Bennett, Avalynne and Kristina. He was the ‘pied piper’ of his Grands, they followed him wherever he went, getting into mischief and sharing a bond of love and delight.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to David. Whether he was sitting with his wife outside enjoying happy hour in their backyard paradise; or an evening with all his family, a drink of rye in his hand and the inevitable kitchen dance parties that would follow.
David was very generous and took great pleasure in lending a hand to others, while being a great mentor to all. Whether helping his friends and neighbours or giving time to his ever growing family.
Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers or donations, explore something David believed in and consider registering for organ and tissue donation.
The Payton family (in-laws & out-laws) invites friends and family to leave your tears and tissues at the door and join us in celebrating the lives of both David and John Payton. Taking place on Saturday July 23rd from 2pm-4pm (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!) in the backyard at 83 Ontario St in Georgetown. Casual drop-in, rain or shine. Refreshments, snacks and hugs will be offered in exchange for your happy stories and warm memories.
