Bruun, Karl David “Dave”
January 6, 1972 – November 3, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved David on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Carleton Place Hospital, peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
David’s warm heart, generous spirit, sense of humour, and teasing nature will always be remembered. He was a true friend and confidant to many. David will be remembered for his deep love of golf, fishing, dogs, and entertaining family and friends at his home in Carleton Place.
He is survived by his dear partner Natalie Welch. Loving father to his two children Karl Henrik and Anika Eve. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Kari Clarke (Norman), Kirsten Watson (Neil). Cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews Katie, Kristian, Liam and Jenna. Great uncle to Harvey. Predeceased by his parents Karl Bruun and Carole McWilliam. David will be greatly missed by his best friend Jason Anderson (Kim) and their daughters Caroline, Katey and Ruby. Many cousins and extended family both in North America and in Scandinavia mourn his passing. David will be sadly missed by his many friends from the East Coast, where he attended Mount Allison University in New Brunswick.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Carleton Place Hospital.
Friends may visit the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home located at 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Please join us in raising a glass as we celebrate Dave’s life at a reception on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Final Score Sports Bar, located at 384 Flora Street, Carleton Place, ON.
In lieu of flowers, the family is graciously requesting donations be sent to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation, Lanark County Mental Health, or Open Doors for Lanark Children and Youth.

Although I only know /knew you on the internet Natalie, my heartfelt condolences are with you and your beautiful children. I am sorry I can’t be there in person to celebrate David’s life, I am surely there in thought.
