Obituary
Hero of a husband to the love of his life, Pamela, of 64 years. Number one father, supporter, and rock to his daughters, Gail (late James) and Kimberly (William). The best Grandad to Matthew and Jennifer (Steve) and Grandy Grandad to Rachel (Jordan) and Ryan. Proud great “gan-dad” to his great granddaughters, Isla, Alice, and Harper. Adored big brother and trickster to Carol (Dave). Witty uncle to Alison (Justin) and great uncle to Darby.
Love and family were everything to David, an old vintage soul as cool, classic, and lovely as the opera he admired so dearly. He proposed to his cherished wife within six weeks of meeting her, knowing Pamela was the one as quick as “fascination turned to love”. David lit up at the addition of each new family member, his greatest accomplishments and fulfillment in life.
Always invested in the world around him, he was an engaging conversationalist and thoughtful listener. David was a gentle giant who spread warmth, humour, generosity, kindness, and wisdom to all he met, especially those he encountered on his determined daily walks around the neighbourhood. He loved a cold beer, playing cards, going for a boat ride, and Muskoka. While he will be deeply missed, we are immensely grateful for the beautiful life he lived and shared with us.
A private service is being held by the family. If desired, memorial contributions to Haven of the Heart, an animal sanctuary in Palgrave, Ontario, would be greatly appreciated.
