FARSTAD,
Darren Hans – age 58, of Canning, passed away at home on
August 16, 2022. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Otto and
Dorothy (Theriault) Farstad. Darren was a former resident of
Bonny Lea Farms in Chester and a longtime resident of CLAS. He enjoyed
his job at the Flower Cart, New Minas, where he worked for over 25
years. Darren is survived by his twin brother, Derrick (Donna)
Farstad, of East Ferry; brother, David Farstad (Joanne Moss), of
Centreville, Digby Co.; sisters, Anna (Chesterton
“Chet”) Denton, of Digby; Sandra (Eric) Outhouse, of
Digby; and half-sister, Oddway (Kare) Tanstad, of Oslow, Norway. He
will also be missed by his care-workers at CLAS, as well as his
housemates at the Canning House. He was predeceased by brother,
Gary Farstad and great-nephew,
Tyson. Darren’s family would like to extend a
special thanks to Diane, Duke, Doris and Sharon for the wonderful care
they have shown him over the years. Cremation has taken place. There
will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family interment
will take place in East Ferry Cemetery, Digby Neck. Donations in
memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences
