Obituary of Darlene Vanwyck
Darlene Lucille Vanwyck (nee Fleming) passed away peacefully in her Allenford home on Monday January 3rd, 2022, at the age of 43.
The cherished wife of Paul and loving mother of Sarah, Jake, Connor, Spencer and Reilly. Darlene is the beloved daughter of Betty Lou Fleming (nee Angel) and the late Stan Fleming. Sister of Scott (Sue) and aunt of Kara Archibald, Ashleigh Fleming (Johnny) and Sedar Fleming. Daughter-in-law of Lynn Vanwyck Kennedy (nee Klages) and sister-in-law of Kerri Walpole (Jamie) and aunt of Jocelyn and Belle. Darlene was predeceased by her fathers-in-law Ray Vanwyck and Ren Kennedy.
Fondly remembered by her extended families, including her Rogers TV family where she worked for over 20 years. Through her work she made a number of life-long friends, developed her passion for story-telling, and championed causes important to the community and dear to her heart.
A Private Memorial Service for Darlene Vanwyck will be held in the Chapel of the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519) 376-7492 on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 with Rev. David Shearman officiating. All attendees must wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols. Although it is private, friends are welcome to view the service via livestream on the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca) at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Bring Tom to Town” Campaign or the Owen Sound Animal Shelter. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting Darlene’s online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
