Obituary
Dale Edward Cutler (Cutty!)
Born: March 14, 1946
Passed Away: April 27, 2022
Dale was born in Rosetown; the eldest cousin on the Cordes side (mom’s) of the family. Some referred to him as Number 1.
He received his early education at Idaleen School which closed in 1959. He then attended a school in Saskatoon which also provided therapy to assist with his learning to walk. His final school years were spent at Smith School in Rosetown.
His aunties picked and cleaned bottles to purchase leg braces but even as a youngster he was very determined. Needless to say, the braces didn’t last long.
His hobbies included coin collecting but his passion was farming. He spent many hours playing with his farm toys. As he aged the farm toys got bigger and he was able to help his parents with the farm work.
His other interests were ball, hockey and football. He felt so proud when the Rhondda Rockets made him bat boy and gave him his own uniform. He was part of the team and never missed a game. Later it was the Edmonton Oilers of which he was able to attend a couple of games. He was even able to catch a Coyote’s game while visiting Arizona. You can’t live in Saskatchewan and not be a Roughriders football fan. It just wouldn’t be right.
The farm was sold in 1977 which really was a disappointment for him. A short time later he was able to get his driver’s license and then dad got him a truck. That truck was spotless.
The farm was still calling his name. For several years he worked for Russ and Doug MacDonald and periodically for other farmers in the area. He was happiest on the farm.
In September 2005 he wanted to try life on his own so he rented a place in Rosetown until his passing.
Dale was compassionate, innovative, determined and always left people with a sense of importance. Although his last few days were difficult, he still had his sense of humor. He always had a greeting and a smile for everyone.
Dale is survived by his sister Candy (Ross) MacIntyre of Brock, nephews Steven of Brock and his children Koty, Kalyme and Klaira of Huntersville, NC; David (Courtney) of Emerald Park, SK and niece Heather (Joel) and daughter Brooklyn of Victoria, BC. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie Fordham and Irene Margaret Cutler.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rosetown Cemetery with a time of fellowship to follow at the Rosetown Legion Hall (the family requests that masks be worn at the Legion Hall). Donations in memory of Dale may be made to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, 2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 6A8 or the Royal Canadian Legion – Rosetown Branch #66, P.O.
