Daisy Smith McDonald 2022

Obituary
Daisy McDonald (nee Smith)
Daisy passed away peacefully at home in Sundridge on January 11, 2022. She was born on a farm on Eagle Lake in March 25 1928 when there were only 5 cottages on the lake. She worked in North Bay awhile then worked for CNR in Toronto for 30 years in the legal dept. Upon retirement she moved back to her beloved birthplace where she lived out her life. She was a devout Catholic and very much pro life and anti-abortion. She was very passionate about nature. A true naturalist at heart. She is survived by her only son Michael, his wife Rhona and much beloved granddaughter Michelle, and will be missed by many beloved nieces and nephews. Daisy will forever be in the hearts and memories of many in Strong township, Machar township and Toronto. She will join her parents in heaven Joshua and Rose (nee Barnes) Smith, her brother Walter Smith (Birch Point cottages Eagle Lake), sisters May Cragg and Violet Smith. A Funeral Mass will be held in the spring of 2022 followed by the burial in Bows Cemetery on Eagle Lake next to her father and sister Violet. We would like thank all the wonderful various Health Care Professionals, Sundridge Lions Club, our local Emergency Services and many others who made several calls to her aid. If desired, donations to the ShareLife would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home – Moore Chapel.
