Cyril Luscombe
December 12th, 1935 – July 13th, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Luscombe announce his passing at the A.M. Guy Memorial Hospital in Buchans, on July 13, 2022, at the age of 86. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.
He is predeceased by his wife Marie, Parents Raymond and Sadie Luscombe, Sisters Marion and Jean, Brothers Roy, George, Sandy, Bruce, and Lloyd.
Leaving to mourn Daughter Audrey (Frank) Quirk, Grandsons Ryan Quirk (Jackie), Byron Quirk (Nicole), Great Granddaughter Aaliyah Quirk, Cyril’s partner Betty Penney, extended family and friends.
Cyril was born in Loon Bay to Raymond and Sadie Luscombe on December 12th, 1935.
He quit school to start work at a young age with his father at a lumber camp in Loon Bay.
Later in life he worked at the retail store in Buchan’s, where he met the love of his life Marie Daisy Mae Jones. After 3 months of dating, they married, March 28th, 1958.
Eight years later they became proud parents to a baby girl named Audrey Dianne, after that Cyril started driving the school bus to Buchans every day, a job he loved. He loved sharing his tobacco and papers with the students. They all loved him for his generosity. Then Abitibi Price, working as a lumber jack is what took him to retirement in 1996 at age 60.
Two years after the passing of his wife of 50 years, Cyril found love again. An invite to supper in Badger with a beautiful women, Betty Penney, lead to 10 wonderful years together, loved by her family until the end.
Resting at Millertown Community Church with visitation Friday evening July 15th 6-9 pm and Saturday July 16th at 10-12 noon. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm with interment at Milliertown Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Millertown Community Cemetery Fund.
