Rutten, Cornelia Petronella “Corrie”
It is with great sadness the family of Cornelia Petronella Rutten announces her passing on July 10th, 2022 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Adrian Rutten (2020). Loving mother of Jenny (Bill) Vermeiren, Jackie (Al) Baxter, Nellie (Jack) Haan, Frank Rutten and John (Annie) Rutten. Adoring grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Corrie is survived by her brother Hank Van Gorp (Anna), her sister Sjan Brokx, and her sister-in-law Dinny Van Gorp. She is predeceased by her sister Nellie and her brother Ad. Corrie will be sadly missed by all her extended family and friends in Canada and in The Netherlands. Corrie will be forever remembered for her talent of knitting and creating the most special items for her family and friends to forever cherish and enjoy.
The family wishes to thank Brookside Retirement Home, The Acute Stroke Unit at University Hospital and Bluewater Health Palliative Care; for all their kindness and care of Corrie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14th, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Forest. A private interment to be held at Beechwood Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
