Obituary
Doris Coonfer (nee: McLean) of Okotoks, formerly of Strathmore and Nightingale, passed away peacefully at the High River Hospital on January 5, 2022 with her family at her side. Doris will be dearly missed by her children: Jack McLean, Scott Coonfer, Sandy (Dylan) Cartwright; her four grandchildren, Shelby, Matt, Ty, and Shay; and many family and friends.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dale, in 2001; her parents, Jack and Mary Ann McLean; her sister, Evelyn Erichsen; her daughter-in-law, Kathy, and grandson, Steven.
Doris was born on June 26, 1926 in Elora, Ontario and remained in Ontario until 1981 when she and Dale moved their family west to Alberta. Doris cherished her time spent with family, and always had a cozy home full of pets, delicious meals, and baking. She loved her dogs and cats, and kept the wild birds outside fed everyday no matter how cold the weather. She loved flowers and gardening; clocks and trains; and enjoyed many wonderful trips with family. Doris livened the room with her infectious laugh. She treasured all the memories of her well-lived life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loved her.
It was her wish that there be no service held. If friends so desire, a memorial tribute may be made to Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue or any animal rescue organization of their choice. To email condolences, please visit www.snodgrassfuneralhomes.com Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Home, High River.
