Joanie passed away peacefully on January 11th 2022 at the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St Anthony at the age of 80 years. Joanie was born in Plum Point and lived there all her life until she lost her home to a fire in 2019. She then moved to the Shirley’s Haven personal Care Home in St Anthony.
Joanie will always be remembered by her family; her sisters Susan Chambers, Bertha Etheridge; her brothers Lawrence Coombs and Lorenzo (Mary) Coombs, and a large number of nieces and nephews and their families.
Joanie was predeceased by her parents Absalom and Florence (Bonnell) Coombs, her brother Harrison Coombs and her in-laws Clyde Chambers, Nellie Coombs, and Gordon Etheridge Sr.
A special thank you to the staff at the Shirley’s Haven personal care home for their care while she lived there. It was deeply appreciated.
Joanie will be laid to rest at the cemetery in Pond Cove with her family in attendance. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.
