On April 11, 2022, Keaton and Kale lost their biggest fan and role model, their dad Condon Paul MacLeod.
Born on June 8th, 1966 and raised in Marion Bridge he was the son of Angus and Alice MacLeod, Sister to Heather (David), Rockdale, nephew, Kramer (Jess), Grand Prairie, AB and niece Alicia, River Bourgeois, grandnieces Kallie and Paisley and extended family.
He was predeceased by his infant son Bretton Scott MacLeod.
It is hard to say whether Condon developed or was born into an intense love of all things with wheels and motors. Everyone knew to call him, to lend a helping hand, or to give advice and guidance, especially when it came to anything mechanical. He loved a challenge and would be determined to figure out a solution to fix it. Condon was well known as a hard worker, even as far back as in his early days as a teenager at LeVattes Construction, working alongside his greatest role model, his dad. In the early 1980’s, he owned and operated C. MacLeod Autobody, car restoration on Grand Lake Road. Seeing the need for a bigger place for truck repair, he opened Maritime Collision Centre in Point Edward and then later Eastern Collision Centre in Sydport. The past 10 years Condon was part of the team at RDL Construction Ltd. As his long-time friend, Kramer Levatte said, “Don’t ask me to tell you what he can do, ask me, what he can’t do, as that list is much shorter.”
Everyone knew where to find Condon. In his spare time, he loved being in his garage. Friends could stop in at all hours for a beverage and a visit. There were always laughs to be had; an impersonation, a joke he played on someone or a story or two. He could usually be found working on something, listening to classic rock, especially ZZ top, sometimes watching the weather channel, a car restoration shows or Highway Through Hell.
One of the hardest things in life is losing a loved one, there will be no shortage of people left to mourn his loss and share stories about him, as he truly was loved, respected, and will be greatly missed. Condon had many amazing supporters that were very special to him, too many to list who carried us through this difficult time.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the VON, Home Consult nurses and the nurses and doctors of 3B and An Cala Unit at the CBRH for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be no visitation as per Condon’s wishes. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross and the An Cala Palliative Care Unit.
“Now that your time on earth here is done, it is now your time to be with Bretton”.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Condon Paul MacLeod 2022..
