June 30, 1953 – November 22, 2022
Colleen Michelle Anderson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 22,
2022, at the age of 69 years. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will
always be remembered for her generosity, compassion, commitment to family and friends, and passion
for helping others.
Colleen was born in Edmonton, AB on June 30th , 1953, to Clarence and Noreen Brown. She graduated
from High School in Edmonton, from Jasper Place High School in 1970. Colleen worked as a Unit Clerk at
the General Hospital Emergency Department in Calgary, and later in life went to the University of
Calgary to get her Social Work Degree. She worked as a social worker for the Calgary Health Region in
various roles including Labor and Delivery.
Colleen had many passions in life, including her love for her family and friends. Colleen married her
loving and devoted husband Ronald Anderson on December 21, 1974. Together Colleen and Ron raised
their 5 children and opened their hearts and home to many children through foster care. One of her
proudest moments, was when her husband and children were with her, when she graduated with her
social work degree from the University of Calgary. After her career, she focused on adventures with her
husband and the role of Grandma. Words cannot describe her love for her grandchildren.
Colleen is survived by her sons, Greg (Laura), Stephen (Kelly), Tyler, Ryan, and daughter Meighen; 7
grandchildren, her sister Barb and brother David (Dianne). Colleen was predeceased by her beloved
husband Ronald Anderson, mother Noreen, father Clarence, and sister Heidi.
A Celebration of life will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM 11995 16 St NE, Calgary, AB on Saturday December 3, 2022, at 3:00 pm.
